The beautiful, crystal clear water of the River Fowey runs through Rivermead. The fishing season is open from 1st April and for brown and sea trout runs until 30th September.
The Fowey has the best late autumn salmon fishing in England, remaining open until December 15th. Both the salmon and sea trout thrive by spawning in the pure upland waters of Bodmin moor. After 20 miles, the tributaries meet just above Rivermead Farm at Two Waters Foot.
The renowned Kingfisher pool at Rivermead Farm is one of the best fishing locations on the whole River Fowey. The EA's fish counter at Restormel Weir has registered encouraging fish movements and the EA and West Country Rivers Trust regularly monitor fish stocks. Tighter legislation, habitat management and restraint by anglers all appear to be playing a beneficial role for the River Fowey.
All coarse fish (perch, roach, chubb, pike and eel) must be returned carefully to the river. We are currently not offering lake fishing at Rivermead but are hoping to review this in the future. We look forward to welcoming responsible anglers of all ages and skill levels to enjoy our lovely river.
